Fire Restoration never starts out as a happy story.  The client, a 24 year old who had just closed on his first home, a two family with a converted third floor and considered by the town to be a three family had an existing tenant accidentally set fire on the second floor deck that ultimately damaged most of the 2nd floor and all of the third floor.  RMX Northeast, Inc worked closely with local officials and the client to eventually gain approval for a variance to raise the roof level of the third floor so that it would no longer be a “legal non-conforming” unit.

A full exterior restoration of the building included the removal of the entire third floor roof structure and walls to accommodate the installation of the new taller walls and a new roof structure.  This process was completed over a three day period and no additional damage occurred to the building when a surprise rain storm came at the end of second day.

The client was satisfied with the final product as he occupied the first floor very early, which was only slightly damaged, and managed to quickly rent the brand new third floor and highly renovated second floor.

The entire project was completed in just under four months.
